My partner and I both like pokemon so I drew a colorful logo using overlap and visual effects. I also used some symbols to give it a flare as additionally.
As for my art challenge I was required to create my own topic for an art exhibit. I was stumped for a topic. I went through my brain for what I knew and I had an epiphany. PICASSO. I knew he was an artist that was famous, but everything else I knew was learned thanks to this project. For this art challenge I was supposed to make a 2D sketch of something I'm passionate about. While brainstorming I thought about the game Terraria, but it isn't recognizable to most people while Mine Craft on the other hand is popular to just about every one. Mine Craft it is...
My logo was a design an idea that randomly came when brainstorming. I wanted it to be simple so I added squares and the eye was off of my liking of anime with eyes being something anime is known for. For those of you who don't know what anime is it is a Japanese animation. In the progression to the final copy I made a 3rd dimension to the squares for intersecting since it makes it stand out more.
To make a print you need a linoleum block, a stopper, and chisels. sketch out in pencil your image or draw it on paper, flip it over, shaded the back over the image, flip it back over, then draw hard on the design over the linoleum and you've now got the image. You put the stopper at the end of the table with the linoleum block at the top. Use the chisel to carve out the image by carefully wiggling and pushing the chisel over the image. Make sure your fingers are behind the chisel's blade because it hurts to be stabbed. When done paint over the image, put on paper, and then let it dry. |
